Ram Gopal Varma faces case over alleged insults to Chandrababu Naidu
Ram Gopal Varma is facing legal action for alleged derogatory posts about Andhra CM Chandrababu Naidu and his family.
A 50-year-old rickshaw puller, who was accused of raping a nine-year-old girl in Andhra Pradesh’s Guntur district, allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself on Thursday.
According to the media reports, the body of the accused, Subbaiah, was found hanging from a tree in an agricultural field near Amaralingeshwara Swamy temple.
While the Guntur police was looking for the man, they received information that he may have killed himself.

Reportedly, Subbaiah has called one of his friends on Thursday and said he has committed a crime and he was ashamed of it. He also told his friend that instead of surrendering he would rather commit suicide.
“The 50-year-old rickshaw puller was seen heading towards Krishna river and reportedly told a man that he wants to end his life,” Director General of Police M Malakondaiah had said earlier.
Earlier on Friday, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had assured action in the rape of a 9-year-old victim.
“Infuriated to hear about the rape of a 9 year-old girl in Dachepalli, Guntur district. Have instructed the IG and district SP to immediately take strict action against the culprit, and provide support to the victim’s family,” the CM had tweeted.
Protests had broken out in many parts of Guntur on Thursday in support of action against the accused.
The accused reportedly lured the girl with toffees before raping her. He then dropped her back and threatened her to remain quiet. The mother of the girl spotted some bleeding and took her to the hospital, where the doctor informed the mother about rape. The rape survivor is currently being treated at the hospital.
