Forty cadets of the Army Cadet College (ACC) graduated in Dehradun on Friday to join the Indian Military Academy. The graduation function took place at the famous Chetwood Building.
The ACC is a wing of the Indian Military Academy (IMA). The college was established with the aim to forge ahead deserving soldiers into officer’s cadre.
After completing three years at the ACC, the cadets undergo one year of training at the IMA.

Among the 40 cadets, 21 are from science stream and 19 from humanities stream. These degrees were conferred on the cadets by the prestigious Jawaharlal Nehru University in the Capital. The ceremony was presided over by Lt Gen SK Jha, Commandant of the Indian Military Academy.
The Army Cadet College has a rich history of training selected personnel from other ranks of all the three Services who have the potential to become officers in the Indian Army. After three years of training at the Army Cadet College, the graduated course will join the Indian Military Academy for one year for their pre-commissioning training.
Biju CP was felicitated with the gold medal of the Chief of the Army Staff. Rahul Joshi got silver and Anup Kumar Singh received bronze for standing overall second and third respectively. The commandant’s banner for overall performance went to the Haji Pir Company.
