VP highlights the role of innovation in building a developed India at IIT-Kanpur
He highlighted IIT Kanpur’s pivotal contributions in fostering innovation and nurturing talent that drives transformative changes worldwide.
Organised under the Advanced MDP & Advanced ESDP supported by the Ministry of MSME, six parallel batches were conducted on the areas of “Advanced Marketing Strategy & Strategic Management, Artificial Intelligence” as part of the programme at IIT Kanpur Campus and its Outreach Centre in Noida.
Startup Incubation & Innovation Centre, the technology business incubator of IIT Kanpur, hosted the first batches of the Advanced Management Development Program wherein six parallel batches were conducted on the areas of “Advanced Marketing Strategy & Strategic Management, Artificial Intelligence” at IIT Kanpur Campus and its Outreach Centre in Noida.
Several distinguished industry experts led this sector-agnostic training programme.

Candidates from across the country attended the certification training programme in six parallel batches to sharpen their business and technical skills. The in-depth immersive training session was hosted with the aim to promote new enterprises, build capacity of existing MSMEs, and inculcate entrepreneurial culture in the country.

A few of the key highlights of these training sessions include selected MSMEs to get an opportunity to access grants from the Ministry of MSME and MSMEs get interaction opportunities with industry experts and entrepreneurs along with industry visit opportunities for the representatives.
This programme highlighted several crucial elements of entrepreneurship across multiple sectors. Participants could access viable business knowledge frameworks in their respective fields to establish successful enterprises from the ideation stage.
Commenting on the programme, Prof. Ankush Sharma, professor in-charge, Innovation & Incubation, IIT Kanpur, said, “The Advance Management Development Program supported by the Ministry of MSME enables us to disseminate sound awareness around the identified areas. This will further strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem of the country and lead to the creation of impactful business models.”
Dr. Nikhil Agarwal, CEO, FIRST & AIIDE-CoE, said, “We have received a generous response from several individuals engaged in the MSME Ecosystem expressing their interest to attend the training programme. It is indicative of the tremendous work that has to be done in the sector to address the critical challenges. It is indeed a great initiative by the Ministry of MSME, and we are happy to support its implementation in full essence.”
Piyush Mishra, COO, SIIC added, “SIIC IIT Kanpur has successfully implemented the Advanced ESDP & MDP Training Programme. This five-day certification training would ensure last mile learning in the identified sectors.”
