India's equity markets, long buoyed by strong economic growth and rising corporate earnings, are now facing a sharp and prolonged correction.
The Sensex is trading at 37,204.95 up by 59.50 points or 0.16 per cent from its Monday’s close at 37,145.45.

The 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex) on Wednesday opened on a positive note.
The Sensex of the BSE opened at 37,251.03 and touched a high of 37,261.25 and a low of 37,222.60. The Sensex is trading at 37,204.95 up by 59.50 points or 0.16 per cent from its Monday’s close at 37,145.45.

At the same time, the broader 50-scrip Nifty at the National Stock Exchange (NSE) opened at 11,028.50 after closing at 11,003.05. The Nifty is trading at 11,019.70 in the morning.
