A new Era Executive variant is likely to replace both the D-Lite and Era trim

Hyundai’s entry level hatchback, the Santro, is about to undergo a variant overhaul, a leaked dealer document suggests. The Hyundai Santro is available in five variant options- D-Lite, Era, Magna, Sportz and Asta. However, a new Era Executive variant will enter the picture to replace both the D-Lite and Era entry-level trims. During the process, the Magna MT and CNG along with Sportz AMT should also be equipped with more features.
The new Era Executive variant isn’t as bare bones as the earlier entry-level variant, D-Lite. In addition to the features on the D-lite variant, the Era Executive gets body coloured front and rear bumpers, front power windows and AC with heater.

The document suggests that the Hyundai Santro Magna MT and CNG variant could now get a 2-DIN audio system with Bluetooth, front door speakers and steering mounted controls similar to the Magna AMT variant. Meanwhile, the Santro Sportz AMT is supposed to get a co-driver airbag, rearview camera and seatbelt pretensioners. That said, buyers of the Sportz MT variant might continue to miss out on the passenger airbag. Features like ABS with EBD, driver airbag and engine immobilizer are offered as standard on the Santro.

With the update, the prices of the aforementioned variants are likely to be hiked by around Rs 15,000. The effective entry-level price of the Santro’s base Santro variant should then start from Rs 4.05 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Here are the current prices of the Hyundai Santro for reference.
