India on Thursday rejected China’s latest proposal to link the controversial China Pakistan Economic Corridor with the Bangladesh, China, India, Myanmar (BCIM) corridor, saying there was no question of New Delhi making any compromise with its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Talking to reporters here, MEA spokesperson Gopal Baglay said while India favoured connectivity projects both within the country and in its neighbourhood, it had already conveyed its objections over the ‘so-called’ CPEC to the Chinese leadership since the project runs through the Indian territory in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK).

recently announced that the CPEC would be connected with the BCIM project through the sea as part of the plan to link the South China Sea with the Indian Ocean under China’s ambitious Belt Road Initiative (BRI).
