Air India flight diverted to Canada over bomb threat
An Air India flight from New Delhi to Chicago was on Tuesday diverted to Canada after receiving a bomb threat which was posted online

The much awaited commercial flight service between Dehradun and Pantnagar began in Uttarakhand on Friday. This air service will operate four days in a week. Launched under the Mission UDAN Scheme, the Dehradun-Pantnagar flight service was jointly flagged off by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat, Vidhan Sabha Speaker Premchand Aggarwal and Cabinet Minister Prakash Pant from Jolly Grant Airport on Friday.
CM Trivendra Rawat said, “This service will prove to be very important for connectivity between Garhwal and Kumaon.” He said air strips would be expanded in other parts of the hill state. “Being a border state, from strategic point of view, special emphasis is being laid on the expansion of air strips,” he said.
Air India CMD Pradeep Singh Kharola said Air India’s wholly-owned subsidiary company Alliance Air under the government mission “Connecting India”, under the UDAN scheme for improvement in the regional connectivity, would operate the flight service from Dehradun to Pantnagar and back.

This air route had been a long-standing demand of the people. Alliance Air has started operating from ATR 42 Aeroplane on Pantnagar-Dehradun-Pantnagar route. The seat capacity of the ATR Aeroplane is 42.
Flight number 91-823 will depart from Pantnagar at 13.40 hrs on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, arriving in Dehradun at 14.40 hrs.
The return flight will depart from Dehradun at 15.05 hrs on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday and reach Pantnagar at 15.55 hrs.
The all-inclusive fare for Dehradun-Pantnagar sector is Rs 1,590.
Alliance Air also has a direct flight from Pantnagar to New Delhi.
