Literacy Week valedictory function held at Springdales School
Dr Ruhee Dugg, Commissioner (Land Disposal), Delhi Development Authority (DDA) graced the function as the chief guest.
This occasion had held since 1989 and it celebrates the ideals of Shri Yudister Kumar, the architect of Springdalian Education whose vision of a world governed by friendship and mutual understanding resonates in the heart of each Springdalian.
The Springdales School in Dhaula Kuan celebrated ‘The International Children’s Festival’ last week, with Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia Armen Martirosyan presiding over the function as the guest of honour.
Dr Jyoti Bose, Director, Springdales School, welcomed the guests that included dignitaries from the diplomatic missions and spoke about her desire to build an education system “that recognises the acceptance and celebration of the diversity of the human race”.
The school has organised this function since 1989, celebrating “the ideals of Shri Yudister Kumar, the architect of Springdalian Education whose vision of a world governed by friendship and mutual understanding resonates in the heart of each Springdalian”.

The evening saw foreign students from Australia, Tanzania, Ghana, Chile, Japan, Romania and Philippines represent their country through their costumes and flags. The auditorium reverberated with a glittering cultural amalgamation of music and dance with talented dancers from each unit enthralling the audience. While the students from the Russian Embassy School spread the local flavours through their vibrant dance performance, Iraqi School students urged for world peace and solidarity as they rendered a song, “Tell Me Why”.
Mr Martirosyan appreciated the efforts of the school for organising such festivals, which he said would “contribute better to world peace and friendship than the diplomacy alone”. He lauded all children and students present at the event.
