Uttarakhand IAS officers boycotted secretariat work on Friday to protest the manhandling of their colleague by a politician earlier this week.
Himanshu Gupta, IAS, Secretary, Central Board of Secondary Education and former Director, Directorate of Education, Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi, graced the occasion on Friday.
Springdales School, Dhaula Kuan branch bid an emotional farewell to the outgoing batch of Class XII, which pledged to work with commitment towards making the world a better, brighter and beautiful world.

In his address, Gupta told the students that learning is a continuous and lifelong process.

He advocated that real happiness does not come from material things but by enjoying what one does in life.
Sharing his life experiences, Gupta advised the youth to limit usage of digital devices and encouraged them to give back to society to transform India into a developed country.
Earlier, welcoming the gathering including parents, members of the Management Board and distinguished guests, Ritu Madan, Principal of Springdales School, wished the students that their years ahead be characterised by compassion, empathy and confidence.
She further highlighted that may the school motto “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” (The world is one family) be their talisman and steer them towards the right direction.
Quoting the Upanishads, Dr A Sankara Reddy, Chairman, Managing Board, Springdales School, Dhaula Kuan advised the students not to deviate from the path of truth and dharma and never neglect welfare or learning.
In keeping with the tradition, Madan read out the citations of each student highlighting his/her contribution to the school life while the class teacher lit the ceremonial lamp symbolising the student’s journey ahead with the blessings of the teachers.
The students’ and parents’ representatives paid tributes to the school by sharing their thoughts and experiences.
While placing their lamps around the globe epitomising the school motto, the students pledged to work with commitment towards making the world a better, brighter and beautiful world.
The function concluded in true Springdalian tradition with all linking arms with one another and singing the time honoured Scottish ditty ‘Auld Lang Syne’
The vote of thanks was proposed by Prabhat Kumar, Parent Representative, Managing Board, Springdales School, Dhaula Kuan.
