Sahitya Akademi, SMVDU organise lecture on people and books
The two-day conference culminated with a panel discussion on the present status of Dogri novel with reference to prominent Indian languages.

Sahitya Akademi, the national academy of letters, has opened entries for Yuva Puraskar 2020 for publishers and young Indian authors in all 24 languages it recognises.

The Yuva Puraskar was introduced in 2011 to encourage young writers writing in Indian languages. Since then, 204 awards have been given in these Indian languages: Assamese, Bengali, Bodo, Dogri, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Kashmiri, Konkani, Maithili, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Nepali, Odia, Punjabi, Rajasthani, Santali, Sanskrit, Sindhi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu.

The award comprises an amount of Rs 50,000, a plaque and a citation.
According to the Akademi, entries should be submitted along with a copy of date of birth certificate duly attested by a Class I Gazetted Officer and the affidavit supporting the date and year of birth as well as educational qualification.
