The Madhyamik exams conducted by West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) came to an end today with the police investigating the incidents of question papers going viral on social media, informed the state education minister, Bratya Basu today.
According to the minister, a gang of non-students are suspected to be working behind the incident. Not ruling out the possibility of involvement of persons involved from other states, Mr Basu claimed that the act was carried out primarily to malign the efforts of the state government while monetary benefits could also be one of the factors. As informed by the board officials, most of the incidents of mobile seizure have taken place in the district of Malda. Of the 36 students, who were barred from appearing in the remaining exams of the board, 23 are said to be from Malda, according to the WBBSE officials.
