New Zealand PM visits IIT Delhi, announces scholarships

In recognition of his outstanding achievements in corporate leadership and government and public service sector, Dr Nalin Shinghal, CMD, BHEL, was conferred the prestigious ‘Distinguished Alumni Award 2023’ by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi.
The award was presented by Dr R Chidambaram, Chairperson, Board of Governors, IIT, Delhi at its 54th convocation ceremony. An alumnus of IIT, Delhi, Dr Shinghal had completed his B Tech in electrical engineering in 1985.

The award has been conferred on Dr Nalin Shinghal in recognition of his 36 years of service spanning various assignments in private, public and government sectors.

An IIT-IIM graduate and a Commonwealth scholar, he has pworked with Indian Railways as well as in diverse CPSEs like CONCOR, IRCTC, CEL as well as BHEL.
He has also worked with the Long Range Decision Support group of the Ministry of Railways. With over 16 years of board/CEO level experience, Dr Shinghal is recognised as a turnaround expert.

BHEL’s revenue shot up by 32.2 per cent to Rs 7,277 crore during the third quarter from Rs 5,504 in the same period of the previous year.
He said this while addressing the inaugural session of the Indian National Academy of Engineering’s Annual Convention at IIT Delhi.
