Kalimpong DM hails Kalimpong entrepreneurs at BGBS
Two entrepreneurs from Kalimpong have made their mark at the Bengal Global Business Summit, which began today in Kolkata.

At least two persons died and five others were critically injured when an old suspension bridge collapsed at Mungpel under the Pabrintar Gram Panchayat in Kalimpoong district on Sunday afternoon. It is learnt that villagers had been repairing the bridge for the monsoon season when the incident occurred.
“A portion of the bridge suddenly collapsed, taking with it all the seven villagers in the rivulet, around 100 feet below,” local sources said. However, the river was almost dry, but filled with stones and boulders.

Aitazar Rai, 23, died on the spot, while the others were rescued by villagers and taken to the Kalimpong Hospital, where Tek Bahadur Rai, 52, died.
