Coming down heavily on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the party leaders said ‘Modi ki guarantee’ is an attempt to hoodwink the people of Bengal.
Trinamul Congress leaders said Mr Modi had claimed during his speech in Barasat that the BJP government in a law ensured death penalty for rapists. They said this claim is absolutely baseless as the BJP-led Gujarat government had allowed early release of jailed rapists of Bilkis Bano and garlanded the convicts upon their release.

Mr Modi also falsely claimed that the BJP government stands for women’s safety. In reality, BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya hired rapists for his IT cell, who were involved in the gangrape of IIT- BHU victims in PM’s home constituency.
He also claimed that he stood by the women of the country and worked for their welfare. In reality, grapplers Sakshi Malik and Vinesh Phogat were dragged on the streets of the national capital, barely a few kilometres away from the PM’s residence, for demanding punishment of BJP leader Brijbhusan Sharan Singh for abusing women athletes.
He claimed that he would uproot corruption from the country. In reality, he and his band of ministers are promoting corrupt leaders like Suvendu Adhikari who was seen taking bribe.
The Prime Minister claimed that in the past decade, BJP has worked for Viksit Bengal and Viksit Bharat with full honesty. However, in reality the picture is just the opposite. After facing a humiliating defeat in the 2021 Assembly election, BJP stopped releasing funds worth Rs 1.60 lakh crore. Bengal is the only state in the entire country that did not get any MGNREGA allocation for the year 2023-24.
The PM claimed that BJP wants to resolve all issues faced by women. In reality, while Bengal witnessed three visits by the Prime Minister in the past six days, the women of Manipur still await a visit from him after facing ethnic violence in the past 10 months.
The leaders said what the PM said during his speech was nothing but a bagful of lies. “His sole business is to confuse people of Bengal before the Lok Sabha election. We warn people against such fake and tall claims,” they maintained.
