The state police arrested three more accused in the alleged cyber fraud racket, who all belong to the infamous Jamtara gang. In all, the state police have arrested 46 individuals in the alleged cyber fraud racket till now.
Announcing the arrest of 46 cyber fraudsters in a raid conducted by the Special Task Force of the state police from districts adjoining Jharkhand, Supratim Sarakar, ADG (South Bengal) today told news persons that acting on a specific tip-off, a team of police personnel from the state task force, comprising officers from the cyber wing busted a racket of fraudsters for allegedly embezzlement of crores of rupees from people.

“The conmen used to operate from a house taken on rent and would work after splitting in smaller groups. The state’s districts adjoining Jharkhand used to be their prime target,” said the ADG.

The arrests apart, the state police also impounded 84 cell phones, 84 SIM cards and over 100 credit and debit cards from them.
