“Some traders have been dumping building materials like bricks, stones and sand on the road in the Raiganj municipality area for a long period of time. This has inconvenienced motorcycle riders, cycle riders, rickshaws and the common people, while road accidents are being reported because of the nuisance,” the sources said.

The added that traders and different organizations have also put up flexed, banners and boards on the roads, which have disturbed the movement of vehicles.

“Some traders have been dumping such materials on the road for quite some time now. On the other hand, some unauthorized banners and hoarding boards on the roads are becoming a danger to pedestrians and passing vehicles. As such, we have instructed the concerned to remove such materials and hoarding boards and banners from the roads in the next two days,” the Chairman of the Raiganj municipality, Sandip Biswas, said.
