State govt pulls up DVC over release of water

With incessant rains continuing to batter different districts raising the spectre of widespread flooding, a concerned state government today talked tough to the chairman of the Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) over its alleged unilateral practice of releasing water from the upstream dams without informing the state government.

Airport operational despite parking bay waterlogged

Waterlogging was reported from several parts of Kolkata, including at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport(NSCBI). However, there are no reports of disruptions in flight movements so far.
