In an unprecedented show of alacrity, police today arrested a person within minutes after a woman lodged a complaint of molestation and harassment against a security personnel.
Police from New Alipore police station reached the spot after a 46- year-old woman dialled the number of Lalbazar control room on Sunday night and alleged that a security guard of an apartment building on S. N. Roy Road had attempted to molest her.
On receiving the complaint, local police rushed to the spot immediately and nabbed the accused.

The man has been identified as Suresh Singh (60), a security guard working in the apartment. A case has been initiated against him at New Alipore police station under IPC sections 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman.
