Fair Lending
The government’s proposal to clamp down on unauthorised private lending practices signals a decisive move to tackle unregulated financial activities that have long preyed on vulnerable segments of the population.
The IT minister said he does not think that only funding won’t do but require the much-needed impetus with their innovative ideas.
Babul Supriyo, minister for IT and electronics, advocated that in order to receive funding, start-ups need to inspire the private sector to get funds. The government can support them with policies and infrastructure.
Mr Supriyo, while addressing a special session on Runway to Start-ups, also advocated that it was important for the private sector to shirk ranks. Angel investors and venture capitalists to continue their support to fund start-ups should be ready to take risks for the benefit of the country.
