Not just me, but a person like Congress High Command Sonia Gandhi has declared last week that Mamata Banerjee is the leader of INDIA, who can only overthrow BJP from Centre, said Siddiqullah Chowdhury, the state library minister and the general secretary of Jamat-eUlema-e-Hind, a nationalistic organisation of the Muslim community.
Chowdhury was addressing the general assembly of the organization’s West Burdwan district here today where nearly 1,500 members attended. Chowdhury said, “After the successive defeats in the Assembly elections in a bunch of states, an experienced leader like Sonia could realize the better significance of our leader Mamata Banerjee in the national politics and that’s why she’s instructed the leaders of the Bengal Congress that they must not poke their nose about seat sharing in Lok Sabha election.”
The minister added, “Mamata Banerjee is a stalwart in Indian politics and the BJP is afraid of her.” Mr Chowdhury was asking his men not to get frightened about Centre’s proposed implementation of CAA (Citizenship Amendment Act). He also ridiculed Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari. “Who’s he to shout about it and instruct people? The prescribed line of action should be described by the district collectors where persons like him have no role.”
