Police apprehends gang involved in Metro cable theft
The Metro unit of Delhi Police has apprehended four thieves involved in stealing Metro cable and recovered the stolen cable and a vehicle used in the commission of the crime.

As per the fare chart declared by the authorities, the upcoming commercial service between Howrah Maidan and Esplanade would enable the office-goers to reach the “office para” in and around Dalhousie by spending 10 rupees and without having to face the hassles of boarding overcrowded buses or jostling for a space in the heat. A ride from Howrah Maidan via the under river stretch till Esplanade would cost them 10 rupees while that to Central, Chandni Chowk or Park Street would cost 15 rupees.

Commuters would be able to travel till Rabindra Sadan, Netaji Bhawan or Jatin Das Park by shelling out 20 rupees while the journey till Kalighat, Rabindra Sarobar, Mahanayak Uttam Kumar and Netaji Metro stations would cost them 25 rupees from Howrah Maidan. In the next slab of 30 rupees, citizens would be able to enjoy a cool journey in air-conditioned state-ofthe-art rakes till Baranagar, Noapara or Dakshineswar or Master Surya Sen, Gitanjali, Kavi Nazrul, Shahid Khudiram and Kavi Subhash from Howrah Maidan.

The maximum fare is for traveling between Hemanta Mukhapadhyay and Howrah Maidan, costing 50 rupees. The facility of an integrated ticketing system would also be available for the commuters, according to the carrier. Notably, the stretch between Kavi Subhash and Hemanta Mukhapadhyay which is the first leg of the New Garia and Airport corridor, was one of the three lines that saw the green signal on 6 March. Commercial services in this part of the Metro network are also to begin from 15 March.
As informed by the carrier, the minimum fare in this part is 5 rupees for a commute from Hemanta Mukhapadhyay to Kavi Sukanta while the maximum is 45 rupees till Dakshineswar. In the Purple line, the fare for a commute from the newly opened Majerhat metro station to Joka has been announced as 20 rupees.
