Trinamul Congress chairperson Mamata Banerjee today unveiled Didir Suraksha Kawah, a scheme where party workers will go to every household to make people aware of 15 flagship projects of the state government. Around 3.5 lakh party workers will visit around 2 crore household in the state and cover 11 crore people in the state.

She also unveiled an app ‘Didir Doot’ for the volunteers who will be visiting the household. The scheme is a follow up of Duare Sarkar. Addressing party leaders and workers at Nazrul Mancha, Miss Banerjee said Duare Sarkarhad been a successful scheme that benefitted crores of people.

“But we want to address all the people in the state and so the present scheme has been launched. Our duty is to work for the people. We should always remember that Trinamul Congress is by the people, for the people and of the people.” He urged the party leaders to talk to the people and listen to their grievances. “Listen to them patiently and make them aware of various schemes which were have taken for the benefit of the people.”

She said, adding: “We have done so much work after we took over in 2011 but we have never given publicity to our work and I feel it should be done now. I thank Trinamul’s IT team for their tireless work.” Miss Banerjee alleged the CPIM and BJP were working hand in glove to stall development in the state.

“They have nothing else to do. They do not highlight the development work that has been carried out in the state and provide false information to Delhi. As opposition we had never worked to stall development projects in the state. In Singur and Nandigram, the CPI-M had taken measures that had hit common people.”

Mr Abhishek Banerjee, Trinamul Congress national general secretary said from 10 January to 28 February, three hundred- and twenty-party leaders comprising party MPs, MLAs, Zilla Parishad Sabhadhipatis, district Trinamul presidents and chairmen would go to the rural areas and stay there for 10 days.

There are 3343 anchals in the state. From 3 to 10 January, training would be provided to the grass root party workers. They would be wearing Didir Doot badges and wrist bands before visiting the households. The leaders would hold start their campaign with a cultural programme. They would hold meeting with party workers in the afternoon and meet the important persons of the area in the evening.

“We are not fully aware of local history. Every area has its own history, and this campaign will help us to unearth local history,” he said. He said that the workers would be given kits where detailed information had been given regarding their work
