Kuntal Ghosh, the arrested Trinamul youth Congress leader would call the shots in deciding the quantum of money needed to promote undeserving aspirants and identify the places for taking the same all by himself, claimed a source in the know of the Enforcement Directorate.
The Trinamul youth leader, who ED had claimed in Court yesterday, had a deposit of Rs 6.50 crore in his two accounts, had directly transferred to the accounts of former education minister Partha Chatterjee. The huge cash haul of Rs 50cr retrieved from the flats of Chatterjee’s close aide Arpita Mukherjee may also have contained money from the proceeds.
Besides, the central agency officers have also come to know that share of proceeds of crime had also reached several influential persons and the central agency would now interrogate Ghosh in jail, for which the 14-day judicial remand had already been granted by the court to identify them.

The ED had also claimed that Ghosh had raised a whopping Rs 10.40cr by collecting Rs 8 lakh each from 130 aspirants. Not only that, the Hooghly Trinamul leader had also collected Rs 20,000 from around 1,200 aspirants allegedly on the pretext to get court orders cleared for their recruitments. Sources also claimed that proceeds had also been invested in Tollywood as well. Transactions have revealed that Kuntal had made several investments into making music video, short films allegedly by opening a partnership firm.
