Bank cashier shot at by robbers in Jaipur
Police reached the spot on information and rushed the injured cashier Narendra Singh Shekhawat to a private hospital.
The NCDRC has also asked the hospital authorities to pay the amount within six weeks after receiving a copy of its directive.
The National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC) has directed a premier private hospital, opposite of the Bodyguard Lines in the Alipore area, to compensate Rs 1.25 crore to the family or next kin of a lady doctor, who died at the hospital owing to alleged negligence in treatment in 2014.
The NCDRC has also asked the hospital authorities to pay the amount within six weeks after receiving a copy of its directive. The commission has also directed the state government to take necessary steps for development of infrastructure facilities required for patients’ care in the hospital. The lady doctor Arunima Sen (39) was admitted to the hospital after she had polycystic ovarian syndrome (POC).
She had undergone laparoscopic di-treatment, an advanced procedure to destroy scar tissues causing pain, following basic line of treatment on such patients. According to complaints lodged with the commission, her condition deteriorated showing severe cardiac problems within 15 minutes after the procedure was conducted on her.

She died same day, 5 March, in 2014 when she was brought to the hospital. Her family members lodged complaints with the Alipore police station and postmortem report revealed she died when the treatment procedure was performed on her. The hospital authorities were not available for comment.
