Chief minister Mamata Banerjee launched the portal on Tuesday at Deshapriya Park in the city after paying homage to martyrs, who sacrificed their lives for their mother tongue in Bangladesh.
Apon Bangla card would be provided for the NRIs, POIs and OCIs of West Bengal origin. The portal would also serve as a platform for redressing their grievances.
The users of the portal would also be allowed to express their feedback and suggestions to the state government.
There will also be a facility called ‘alumni connect’ on the platform to enable the users to connect them with their school and college friends
