The opposition parties have been accusing the BJP of using the central agencies, ED, CBI and I-T for electoral gains against the regional and national opposition parties and the recent electoral bond disclosure after the Supreme Court directive have once again reiterated the opposition claim.

“Sheikh Ramjan, the trade union leader is close to labour minister Moloy Ghatak and panchayat minister Pradip Mazumdar. I know how much assets he has amassed over the years. He is only recruiting people on the directives of these two ministers and if he does not stop, I will use the agency like ED against him and finish his political career forever,” threatened Lakhsman Ghorui at a public meeting in front of the police.

“All those workers of Graphite India hail from Ward 28 and 29. The last 10 workers recruited are also local. We don’t fear the excessiveness of the central agencies like ED, CBI or I-T,” said Abhijeet Ghatak, INTTUC president of West Burdwan district.
