Senior citizens and the aged are finding it difficult to avail the Covid-19 booster dose. Senior citizens are blaming the local administration for not taking appropriate steps for their booster dose without any harassment and stress.
The All Bengal Citizens Forum president Sailen Parbat said, the district health department has issued alert over the spread of COVID in the district. Senior citizens are prone to get infected by new strain of the virus. Hence, a booster dose is must for the immunity against the virus. But, the local administration seems quite indifferent towards the health care of the aged and the senior citizens. No proper steps have been taken towards providing booster dose to the aged and the senior citizens. The aged, suffering from different kinds of ailments, are unable to walk and stand for long hours. They also have difficulty in reaching local health centers and vaccination centers. At times, they are sent back without getting them vaccinated on some unjustified reason or the other.
