Left plans protests across Bengal on 26 November against neglect of farmers
People across cities and villages in Bengal will join nationwide protests on 26 November, organised by the Samyukta Kisan Morcha, central trade unions, and federations.
The huge turnout at the Janagarjan Sabha at the Brigade Parade Ground proves beyond doubt that the days of the outsiders are numbered in Bengal, said Abhishek Banerjee, national general secretary of Trinamul Congress.
The huge turnout at the Janagarjan Sabha at the Brigade Parade Ground proves beyond doubt that the days of the outsiders are numbered in Bengal, said Abhishek Banerjee, national general secretary of Trinamul Congress. Addressing the mammoth gathering, he said the rally has been organised in a unprecedented way. “Any political party takes six months to organise a rally at the Brigade Parade Ground while Trinamul Congress did it in just 12 days due to its strong organisation,” he said .
He said the meeting today is not a political one but a gathering to raise slogan against long-standing deprivation by the BJP government. He said the meeting has been named Janagarjan Sabha meaning raising the voice in the loudest manner to protest against deprivation. He challenged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to publish a white paper on the money released by the Centre for Awas Yojna, rural house for the poor in 2021-22,2022- 23 and 2023-24. “He is coming to Bengal to circulate lies. If he has guts he should publish the white paper. I know he cannot publish it as he is talking lies to confuse people.” He said: “Modi ki guarantee is actually zero warranty. It contains some high sounding statements which is far from truth.
He has spoken about giving Rs 15 to every individual while Didi promised to enhance the amount of money given to the beneficiaries in Lakshmir Bhandar and it was done. Projects like Kanyashree, Rupashree, Sabuj Sathi have helped people immensely. People will now have to decide whether they will vote for false statements or promises that have been kept.”

He said: “BJP often forgets one simple thing that vote is being cast by the people and not by the agencies like the ED and CBI.” Calling the BJP “outsiders”, he said: “They do not understand our language or sentiment. If you cannot speak our language how can people expect that they will understand out feeling”. He added: “The slogans that have been raised from the meeting will lead to the immersion of the outsiders. Janoganer Garjan, bohiragatader bisorjon.”
Without naming former judge Abhijit Gangopadhyay, he said: “For the first time people saw a former judge being garlanded by corrupt people. We have been alleging that the judge was working with vested interest.” He said in the Lok Sabha election, Trinamul will fight against BJP, CPI-M, Congress and a section of judiciary and media. “ They have all conspired to malign Trinamul.
So long people will back Trinamul, we do not have to be afraid of anything,” he said. A 10 minute video clipping was shown on how Centre has deprived Bengal. He urged people to vote for Trinamul Congress as the party will always be by their side and raise slogans to press their demands.
