BJP’s outreach move ahead of Madarihat bypolls
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is gearing up for a 'public outreach' campaign in the Madarihat Assembly segment, as it seeks to retain the seat in an upcoming by-election.
Local BJP leadership in Barrackpore claimed that Sanjoy, who had joined the saffron party a year ago, has since returned to Trinamul Congress.
Sanjoy Singh, brother of BJP MP from Barrackpore Arjun Singh, was arrested on charges of his alleged involvement in an internal clash between two groups belonging to ruling Trinamul Congress trade union of a local battery manufacturing factory at Shyamnagar on Friday.
Sanjoy claimed himself as a Trinamul Congress leader though a section of the party denied his claim and said that he was associated with their rival BJP camp in the area.
Local BJP leadership in Barrackpore claimed that Sanjoy, who had joined the saffron party a year ago, has since returned to Trinamul Congress.

Some labourers close to Sanjoy said that he was present to protest against the management for the latter’s anti-workers policies.
He was allegedly prevented from organizing the protest by a group of workers backed by his rival leader Somnath Shyam whose brother is repor tedly a contractor in the unit.
