KMC councillor’s son arrested for reckless driving allegedly injuring a 70 year-old woman
Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) councillor Mitali Bandyopadhyay’s younger son Suddhaswatta Bandyopadhyay was arrested on charge of rash driving.
Sources at the hospital said that he underwent first dialysis procedure after his creatinine level shot up abnormally. He is responding to treatment slowly.
Condition of the 92-year-old noted Bengali filmmaker Tarun Mazumder was stated to be critical, today. Chief minister Mamata Banerjee and CPM leaders Biman Bose, Md Salim and Sujan Chakraborty visited him during the day at SSKM Hospital, where he was brought on Tuesday showing symptoms of lung and kidney ailments.
While going to the state secretariat Nabanna this morning the chief minister visited the ailing film director at the hospital and enquired about his health condition.

A team of five doctors in nephrology, critical care medicine, chest medicine, general medicine and cardiology departments is looking after his treatment since he was admitted to the hospital.

Sources at the hospital said that he underwent first dialysis procedure today after his creatinine level shot up abnormally. He is responding to treatment slowly.
Doctors are also monitoring his other parameters related to his cardiac and liver problems and pulmonary functions.
A member of the medical team requesting anonymity said that dialysis performed on him was successful and the nonagenarian filmmaker was stable but critical.
