Chief minister Mamata Banerjee censured law, judiciary and labour minister Moloy Ghatak for keeping silent on attacking the BJP in open programmes at the meeting with the TMC leadership of West Burdwan at Kolkata yesterday.

Meanwhile, the TMC chairperson has formed a core committee for the West Burdwan district, which will be headed by minister Aroop Biswas. Political pundits are of the opinion that she has thus clipping the wings of the local heavyweight Moloy Ghatak.

The CM directed Mr Ghatak to organise anti-BJP programmes immediately and pulled him up for acting soft on the saffron brigade and also told him to send the video footage of those programmes to her. She has also scolded the district INTTUC leadership saying that she has reports of what is happening with the DSP contract labourers and has directed the police to send her reports directly
