‘Special 26’-style extortion bid lands duo in jail
Remember ‘Special 26’, the movie in which the protagonist cheats gullible people by impersonating as a CBI official.
The CBI has issued summons to businessman Shibaji Panja to depose before the agency on 25 June in connection with the agency’s probe into the various ponzi scam cases while Narada CEO Mathew Samuel, has been asked to appear before the agency the day before, 24 June, in connection with the Narada sting operation pay-offs case.
While Panja had been asked to appear at the CGO complex on 25 June, Samuel will have to appear before the agency at Nizam Palace on 24 June.

The summons to Panja was necessitated in light of some new information obtained by the agency in the Rose Valley scam after a marathon interrogation of Rose Valley owner Goutam Kundu at Presidency Jail for the last three days.

The source also said that Kundu was questioned again after the agency gained access to some “incriminating documents” which indicated a direct link with Panja.
