Abhishek congratulates bypoll winners
After the clean sweep of Trinamul Congress in the bypolls in Bengal, an elated Abhishek Banerjee, who is also the party’s national general secretary took to social media and wrote on X-handle about the victory.
Mamatabala Thakur and Sagarika Ghosh submitted their nominations for the forthcoming Rajya Sabha election as Trinamul Candidates in the West Bengal Legislative Assembly, today.
Earlier, Sushmita Dev and Mohammad Nadimul Haque had filed their nominations.
Mrs Thakur was a Trinamul Congress Lok Sabha MP from 2014 to 2019. Mrs Ghosh is a journalist-turned-politician.

After filing nominations, they said they would highlight the issues of common people in the Upper House of the Parliament.
With Trinamul Congress having an overwhelming majority in the Assembly, the four candidates will not face any problems in getting elected.
