The Special CBI Court of Asansol has sent Trinamul Congress Birbhum district president, Anubrata Mondal to 14 days further judicial custody in the cross-border cattle smuggling case.
Today, the advocates of Anubrata Mondal did not file his bail petition in front of the judge of the Special CBI Court.
Already, the TMC leader’s advocates have filed an application for bail in Calcutta High Court.
The hearing of that case will be on 16 December and on 14 December CBI will submit its report to the court. On 14 December another case was heard in Delhi, where the Enforcement Directorate (ED) moved to seek custody of Anubrata in relation to the cattle smuggling case.
ED has already taken his bodyguard, Sehgal Hussein to New Delhi. He is now lodged in jail.
The Special CBI court judge, Rajesh Chakraborty was directed to produce before him on 22 December. Advocate Subrata Chattoraj has urged the court to return back his two cell phones and direct to allow financial transactions and operations of the bank accounts of Bol Bom Rice Mill in Birbhum which has been frozen by the CBI. The CBI had arrested Anubrata from his house in Bolpur earlier.
