Over 1 lakh people call up CM Mamata Banerjee’s toll free number

More than 250 personnel have been engaged to take calls, register complaints. The elected representatives will cover their respective assembly constituencies and interact with the locals and booth level workers. The elected representatives and key functionaries will hold three-hour meetings with the public and booth level workers and interact with them. They would try to solve the problems on the spot, but if they fail to do so, they will refer the case to the chief minister.

After the launch of website, www.didikebolo.com, about 50,000 people have registered their opinions or problem and more than one lakh people called in on the chief minister’s toll free number 91370 91370. The party has engaged more than 250 personnel to take the calls and register complaints and they have been working 24 hours to monitor the calls, said a senior Trinamul Congress leader.

Trinamul MLAs and key functionaries have already started interacting with the people and today some of them, including Debasish Kumar, MMIC Parks and Squares, KMC and Dilip Yadav, district president of Hooghly started door-to-door campaign

Mr Debasish Kumar said: “10,000 villages and urban habitation will be identified by the central leadership of the party.”

The chief minister yesterday had launched a website, www.didikebolo.com, in an initiative to closely interact with the public, to be apprised of their day-to-day problems and take prompt remedial steps.

The Hooghly district ruling party president, Mr Dilip Yadav, today initiated the door-to-door communication programme, Mr. Yadav said, “A card with a toll free number and a website and email address will be provided to every individual so that any person with any grievance can establish communications with the state chief minister.’’

Mr Yadav said the use of the toll free number, the website and e-mail address to communicate with the chief minister and the intensive movement of ruling party leaders and workers from door to door in all the villages and towns of the 18 Assembly constituency in the district will establish an unbreakable rapport with the common people.

A feeling of oneness, faith and confidence will develop between the people and the leaders and workers of the ruling party, he said
