TVS has launched its all-new scooter in India, the TVS NTorq 125, ahead of Auto Expo 2018. It is targeted towards the younger Generation Z consumer in the age group of 18-24 and is India’s first Bluetooth-enabled scooter, says company.
The TVS NTorq 125 includes SmartXonnect, a Bluetooth-enabled connected technology system that can be accessed by the NTorq mobile application for android phones. Two and three wheeler maker TVS Motor Company Ltd plans to sell around 2,00,000 units of its Bluetooth technology connected new scooter, TVS NTORQ 125cc, over the next 12 months, a senior company official said.
“The 125cc scooter is priced at Rs 58,750 ex-showroom Delhi. The first year sales target is 2,00,000 units. The vehicle will be available across the country in a week’s time. The model comes in four colour variants,” K.N.Radhakrishnan, President & Chief Executive Officer, told reporters at the launch of the vehicle.
The new model is the country’s first Bluetooth technology connected scooter that also offers navigation assistance, mobile phone connectivity, engine oil temperature display on the speedometer and other features.
TVS is using a new CVTi-REVV 124.79 cc single-cylinder, 4-stroke, 3-valve, air-cooled SOHC engine in NTorq that churns out about 9.3 bhp and peak torque of 10.5 Nm.
The automatic TVS NTorq offers a top-speed of 95 kmph. Queried about the fuel efficiency, officials said it will be comparable to other 125cc scooters in the market.
Priced at Rs. 58,750 (ex-showroom, Delhi), the new TVS NTorq 125 automatic transmission scooter will primarily compete with the upcoming Aprilia SR125 and Honda Grazia.
