Twelve villagers were arrested after a civic volunteer was injured when two rival groups of TMC supporters clashed at Mominpara village under Ruppur gram panchayat in Santiniketan police station area.
A huge police force was posted in the village. Most of the men from the village have fled out of fear. The two groups clashed with each other with bamboo sticks and stones. Though Santiniketan police reached the spot, stone pelting led to the injury of one civic volunteer.

Locals alleged that some leaders recently met with Anubrata Mondal at his office after which the other group started abusing them and attacked them.

Already two leaders of Trinamul Congress have been provided with armed security guards after they have received threat calls recently.
Throughout Birbhum district, the rival groups of Anubrata Mondal and Kajal Sheikh have been clashing with each other. Few days ago, one TMC supporter was killed in Birbhum.
