Ball pen cap removed from kid’s bronchial tube by BMCH

The Burdwan Medical College and Hospital surgeons removed a ball pen cap from inside the bronchus of a kid that accidentally had passed it through his nasal cavity.

The Burdwan Medical College and Hospital surgeons removed a ball pen cap from inside the bronchus of a kid that accidentally had passed it through his nasal cavity.

The ball pen cap had slipped into the left bronchial tube of seven-year old Babulal Sheikh of Debkhanda village in Hooghly while he was playing with it, the family members said. The matter was noticed when the kid started suffering from a severe breathing disorder three days ago. After Babulal’s condition started deteriorating, he’s shifted to the BMCH by the family. The BMCH surgeons diagnosed the presence of the plastic cap at the left bronchus of the kid and the kid underwent Tracheostomy and nasal endoscopy and the cap was removed today.
