Sarangi Mahajan, the wife of late Pravin Mahajan who was the brother of the BJP leader Pramod Mahajan, met NCP chief as well as Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Wednesday, complaining to him about Food and Civil Supplies Minister Dhananjay Munde grabbing her land. She said that she plans to meet the CM Devendra Fadnavis as well to seek his help in the matter.
“Today I am going to meet the Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis at the Sahyadri Guest House. I met Ajit Pawar in the morning. My land in Jirewadi has been grabbed by Dhananjay Munde and his men. A person named Balaji Govind Munde grabbed my land. Govind Munde is Dhananjay Munde’s house servant. Govind Munde grabbed my land after threatening me and my family. He got the land registered in his name. He did not let us go until the registry of the land was done. He made us sign a bond on a stamp paper of one hundred rupees. He threatened that if we did not sign, we would not be allowed to leave Parli,” Sarangi Mahajan alleged. She said she has also filed a case seeking justice at the Ambajogai district court.

“It has been more than 10 years since Pravin Mahajan (brother of late BJP leader Pramod Mahajan passed away. Our land was grabbed. Both (BJP Cabinet Minister) Pankaja Munde and Dhananjay Munde (of the Ajit Pawar-led NCP) are involved in this case. The land grabbing case is as old as June 6, 2022. Today I went to Ajit Pawar to seek justice, and now I am going to meet Devendra Fadnavis. I have also filed a case in the Ambejogai District Court,” Sarangi Mahajan said. She said that Pawar has assured her of all help.
Incidentally,Pravin was convicted for the 2006 murder of his brother and BJP leader Pramod Mahajan. Pravin Mahajan passed away in jail while undergoing his sentence. Present BJP Cabinet Minister Pankaja Munde’s father and late BJP leader Gopinath Munde was married to Pramod Mahajan’s sister, which makes the Mundes and the Mahajans relatives.
“Ajit Pawar has assured me that he will sort out the matter. Dhananjay has made the situation in Parli (in Beed district) worse than Bihar. If Dhananjay Munde has not spared even his own relatives, what do you think he must have done to ordinary people? The people of Beed are troubled. Many people have told me that if they do not vote for him, he (Dhananjay Munde) will destroy our land,” Sarangi said.
She said that Dhananjay Munde’s man Valmik Karad may be involved in the land grab. “I did not meet Valmik Karad because Valmik may have a hand in the land grab matter. I was threatened that if I come to Parli, Pankaja and Dhananjay would get to know about it. Govind Munde told me that Pankaja Munde has built a hut there, and kept a couple who rears cattle,” Sarangi said.
