The Delhi Police held a high-level coordination meeting at the police headquarters here on Wednesday to enhance cooperation among various law enforcement agencies in view of the Republic Day celebrations in the national capital and the upcoming assembly polls in the city.
The meeting, chaired by Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora, was attended by senior officers from Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Rajasthan, Chandigarh, and J&K.

Sharing details about the meeting, Special Commissioner of Police (Crime) Devesh Chandra Shrivastava said, “The officers exchanged inputs and intelligence related to various matters, and it was resolved to strengthen anti-terror measures like border checking, verification of suspicious elements, and advance information about the movement of any suspicious elements or vehicles.”
Moreover, a lengthy discussion was held on the interstate gangs operating in the NCR and instances of the supply of illegal firearms, illicit liquor, cash, and narcotics. Alongside, traffic regulation during Republic Day celebrations was also formulated, Srivastava added.
Additionally, strict and effective implementation of the Election Commission of India’s guidelines and zero tolerance towards violations during the Delhi assembly elections were emphasised during the meeting, and enhanced policing efforts at state borders were also planned.
The officers appreciated the coordination efforts of the Delhi Police and resolved to increase cooperation and collaboration for better policing in the NCR region, with an emphasis on the real-time sharing of relevant information and close interaction at all levels, to ensure a peaceful and incident-free Republic Day 2025 celebrations and Legislative Assembly elections in Delhi, the Special CP said.
