Earlier, during the Kumbh in 2019 too, CM Adityanath held a cabinet meeting where the proposal for Ganga Expressway was approved.

Sources said in the cabinet meeting at Mahakumbh Nagar, the UP government is scheduled to approve several projects for Prayagraj, including a bridge over river Ganga connecting Daraganj and Hetapatti. Setu Nigam is preparing the proposal for this bridge to be built at a cost of about Rs 750 crore.

Besides, a proposal to construct a symbolic Ram Setu between Boat Club and Arail on Yamuna river has also been made to the government. This bridge will be only for walking purposes.

Prayagraj Mayor Ganesh Kesarwani said Lord Ram had also crossed Yamuna river and taken bath. Therefore, a proposal has been prepared to make a replica of Ram Setu here. It has also got the consent of the Chief Minister, he added.
