Renowned actor Atul Parchure, celebrated for his comedic roles in Hindi and Marathi cinema, has passed away at the age of 57. His death, caused by complications from a previous battle with cancer, has left the entertainment industry and fans in deep mourning.

Parchure’s work spanned films, television, and theater, where he earned a reputation for his versatile performances and natural comedic timing.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde expressed his sorrow over Parchure’s untimely demise, calling it a “painful loss” for the world of entertainment. In a heartfelt post on X (formerly Twitter), Shinde praised Parchure’s contributions across multiple genres, starting from his early days in children’s theater to his prominent roles in Marathi and Hindi dramas and films.

“Sometimes making the audience laugh… Atul Parchure has added depth with his innate talent in every role,” Shinde wrote. He also extended his condolences to Parchure’s family and paid tribute to the actor on behalf of the Maharashtra government.

Parchure’s career showed his ability to seamlessly blend humor and heart, making him a beloved figure among both audiences and his peers. He appeared in a variety of popular films, such as ‘Navra Mazha Navsacha’, ‘Salaam-E-Ishq’, ‘Partner’, ‘All the Best: Fun Begins’, ‘Khatta Meetha’, and ‘Bbuddah… Hoga Terra Baap’.

In addition to his film work, he was a familiar face on television, especially through his appearances on ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’, where his comedic prowess shone brightly.

His contributions to Marathi theater were equally significant. Parchure’s performances in plays like ‘Tarun Turk Mhatare Ark’ and ‘Priyatama’ are popular for their wit and relatability. His involvement in Marathi serials such as ‘Jaago Mohan Pyare’ and its sequel ‘Bhago Mohan Pyare’ on Zee Marathi earned him accolades, including Best Actor and Best Comedy Character awards at the Zee Marathi Utsav Natyancha Awards in 2019.

Atul Parchure’s personal battle with cancer was in the media. Despite the tumor removal, complications later arose. A pus formation where the tumor had been caused his liver to fail, and his kidneys followed soon after, leading to his death in Mumbai on October 14, 2024.
