In a significant crackdown on illegal activities along the Indo-Myanmar border, a joint operation by the Assam Rifles and Mizoram Police resulted in the seizure of a substantial cache of war-like materials.

Acting on intelligence regarding the suspicious movement of goods near the Tiau River, security forces swiftly launched an operation targeting a motorcycle believed to be transporting illicit items.

As the forces closed in, the rider abandoned the motorcycle and fled across the river, successfully evading capture.

Upon inspecting the abandoned vehicle, authorities made a startling discovery: 39,900 detonators, alongside a mobile phone, which may indicate plans for the explosives’ use.

This operation underscores the robust intelligence-gathering capabilities, strategic planning, and seamless coordination between the Assam Rifles and Mizoram Police in tackling security threats in the border region.

The confiscated materials have been turned over to Mizoram Police for further investigation, as authorities work to uncover the origin and intended recipients of the explosives.
