The Kolkata High Court has granted seven days interim bail to Anarul Hossein, one of the key accused in Bogtui murder case for his daughter’s marriage ceremony on Tuesday.

Lucknow STF team killed criminal Anuj Pratap Singh carrying a reward of Rs 1 lakh in Unnao district early Monday morning. However Anuj’s companion managed to escape.
This is the second encounter of the criminals involved in Sultanpur robbery with first one was of Mangesh Yadav, which created much political hype after Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav alleged that the state government was targeting a particular caste.

With today’s encounter, the total killing of the criminals by STF during Yogi Adityanath regime touched 50 mark. Yesterday, the STF claimed that they had eliminated 49 criminals so far in the past seven and a half years.
DGP Prashant Kumar told media here that the encounter of STF team of Lucknow with Sultanpur robbery accused Anuj Pratap Singh and his associate took place in Achalganj police station area of Unnao.
The encounter occurred on Monday morning on Achalganj-Kolhua road, five hundred meters away from the Unnao-RaeBareli highway.
The DGP said the deceased criminal has been identified as Anuj Pratap Singh, resident of Mohanganj police station area of Amethi.
Additional Director General of Police, STF and Law and Order, Amitabh Yash said that the STF team encountered criminals involved in the robbery at Bharat Jewelers in Sultanpur in Achalganj police station area of Unnao.
The ADG said the STF has recovered two pistols of 32 bore, seven spent cartridges, three live cartridges including one cartridge in chamber and two cartridges in magazine and a bag containing about 4 kg of silver and one of the two pistols were recovered from the possession of the accused.
The ADG said the forensic team and Achalganj police are taking further legal action.
On August 28, jewellery worth about Rs 1.5 crore was looted from a shop in Thatheri Bazaar area of Sultanpur city. Around 15 criminals were involved in the crime in which two have been killed in police encounters.
Meanwhile, Dharamraj Singh, father of the encountered criminal Anuj Pratap Singh, has alleged that there was just one criminal case registered against his son in Gujarat.
