Road accident snuffs out lives of six in Odisha

According to police, the 65-year-old woman, who was identified as Janki Kumari, died after she was allegedly hit by a speeding car near her house in Jheel Khurenja area near Geeta Colony.

According to police, the 65-year-old woman, who was identified as Janki Kumari, died after she was allegedly hit by a speeding car near her house in Jheel Khurenja area near Geeta Colony.
The incident came to light after police got a call from a local hospital in Krishna Nagar regarding the accident and that a woman was admitted and was unconscious, and later she was declared dead, as per the police.

A case under relevant sections of the law has been registered at Geeta Colony Station with regard to the incident after recording the statement of family members of the deceased. The accused person has been arrested in this matter.
The accused person, who was driving rashly, is said to be a resident of the same locality. It is said that he was returning home when the accident took place.
The post-mortem examination of the deceased was also conducted in the hospital.
Last week a woman died while others got injured after they were hit by a car in a market in Mayur Vihar-III.
When the people gathered around the vehicle, trying to stop it, the driver reversed and managed to flee from the spot.
