The UP unit of Janata Dal (Secular) merged with the Samajwadi Party on Wednesday. Former Chief Minister and SP president Akhilesh Yadav has said that a decisive battle to save the Constitution, democracy and reservation is taking place in Uttar Pradesh.

“INDIA bloc will defeat the BJP on all 80 seats in Uttar Pradesh and four hundred seats in the entire country. The BJP has betrayed all sections of the society during its 10 years of government. Inflation and unemployment have reached their peak. BJP made false promises to farmers and has ruined the future of the youth,” he said.

Yadav said that farmers’ income did not double. Farming became expensive. Smart City has not been built. Electricity is expensive. During the ten years of the BJP government in the country, more than one lakh farmers committed suicide due to debt and financial crisis, he added.

Addressing the media at the party headquarters here on Wednesday during the merger of JDS with the SP, Yadav said that the BJP government did not provide jobs to the youth and only kept making false promises to the youth.

“The BJP does not want to give jobs to competitive students and is deliberately leaking the paper. Every exam paper gets leaked in UP. There was massive rigging in competitive examinations. The BJP played with the lives of students who worked hard,” he said.

Yadav said that the BJP did not give reservation to backward classes, Dalits and other reserved category students as per the rules. Injustice was done to the poor. The BJP is anti farmers, anti-youth and anti-poor. The BJP government has made everything from food items to diesel-petrol, cooking gas, electricity expensive which made profits to industrialists and big companies. Destroyed the poor and middle class people of the country, he said.

Yadav said that the law and order system of the state has collapsed. The claim of zero tolerance on law and order has become zero. There is no fear of law among criminals. There was an encounter in Jaunpur and a custodial death in Pratapgarh. The immediate police response system UP dial 100 was ruined by the BJP government by making it 112, he said.

The former UP Chief Minister said the BJP government has completely failed to handle law and order. Due to the failure of the government and police administration, murders are taking place every day in the state. Farmers are not going to forget the injustice and atrocities being done to the poor people, he said.

The SP President said that the health services of the state have also been ruined. The BJP government has not built a single district level hospital in the state in ten years. Buildings are standing in the name of Medical College. There are no doctors, medicines or testing facilities there, he said.

He said the BJP’s secret is being exposed in the matter of electoral bonds. The exploits of the BJP are coming out in front of the public. Extortion has been done by scaring people. There has never been a recovery like this in the history of the country, he said.

Yadav said that Rs 3000 crore was spent in cleaning the Gomti River but now the drain is flowing in Gomti river. He said that this government is running on lies and false claims. The public are waiting for the voting dates. People will not forgive the BJP and this time the BJP will be completely wiped out in the Lok Sabha elections, he claimed.
