By fostering an excellent environment of law and order, the Uttar Pradesh Police has changed the public’s perception of the state, said Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath here on Saturday. He emphasized that the exemplary efforts of the UP Police over the past seven years have propelled the state to excel across all sectors, solidifying its reputation as a frontrunner in every domain.

Addressing the convocation ceremony organized at Bhimrao Ambedkar Police Academy, the Chief Minister highlighted, “Over the past seven years, there has been no riot, organized crime is on the decline, and all major national and international festivals and events have been conducted safely.”

He further stated: “Moreover, the arrival of esteemed dignitaries and the grand consecration ceremony of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya were executed with utmost grandeur and joy. This accomplishment reflects the dedication and diligence of the UP Police personnel, setting a benchmark for policing worldwide.”

The Chief Minister commended the UP Police for their outstanding performance in maintaining law and order, controlling crime, and fostering social harmony, especially during challenging times.

The Chief Minister expressed satisfaction as 8362 sub-inspectors and platoon commanders, including 1618 women police sub-inspectors, are set to join the UP Police following the completion of the basic course of Civil Police at Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar UP Police Academy.

CM Yogi said that UP Police is getting more than 8000 police personnel who have successfully completed one year of rigorous training and professional skills. They will play an important role in improving the law and order situation in the state.

He stated, “Training is the time when a trainee acquires theoretical and practical knowledge along with all the norms of active service and high ideals of practical life. It is during this phase that they prepare themselves to fulfill the duties of a responsible public servant effectively.”

The Chief Minister also highlighted that the capacity of police training has tripled over the past seven years. Throughout the training, topics such as law and order, and human rights were covered, along with new areas like cybercrime and forensic science.

“Three new laws are coming into effect from July 1, 2024. For this, a committee has also been formed at the state government level. It’s gratifying that all trainees have been educated on these new laws during their training. These laws prioritize justice over punishment.”

The Chief Minister also highlighted the Prime Minister’s SMART Police concept—Strict and Sensitive, Modern and Mobile, Alert and Accountable, Reliable and Responsive, Techno-savvy and Trained.

He remarked, “This concept provides us with constant and clear guidance for law enforcement. Moving beyond traditional investigation and punishment methods and embracing modern technology and evidence not only enhances justice but also reduces unnecessary expenditure and labor in investigations.”

He expressed that this training would be highly effective in establishing a police force that is efficient, fair, transparent, accountable, and sensitive to public service.

CM said that the state government has completed the recruitment process of 1.60 lakh police personnel. Additionally, 1 lakh 56 thousand policemen have been promoted.

While extending his best wishes to the trained policemen, the CM said, “All of you are going to be a part of the world’s most glorious police force.”

On this occasion, Director General of Police, Training, Tilotama Verma, Principal Secretary, Home, Sanjay Prasad, Additional Director General of Police Rajiv Sabharwal, MLC Chaudhary Bhupendra Singh, Mayor Moradabad Vinod Aggarwal, District Panchayat President Dr Shefali Singh, MLA Ritesh Gupta, officers associated with the Police Academy, trainees, and parents were present.
