4 lakh devotees visited Ayodhya on 295 special Astha trains in 34 days

In the past 34 days, as many as 295 Astha trains with more than four lakh devotees have reached Ayodhya from different parts of the country.

These figures were taken from the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple Darshan Yatra campaign which started from February 6, sources here said on Tuesday.

In this campaign that started after the consecration of Ram Lalla on January 22, not only devotees from across the country visited Ayodhya in 295 trains, but free arrangements were made for their stay and food. The top leadership of BJP kept monitoring the entire campaign by staying behind the scenes.

The last Aastha special train from Rajasthan reached here on Sunday. However, devotees will come to Ayodhya by buses till March 16, but these buses will return on the same day.

The first meeting of the top leadership of BJP regarding the campaign was held on January 10.

The entire campaign was being monitored by BJP’s Central Organisation Secretary B L Santhosh along with National General Secretary Sunil Bansal while National General Secretaries Tarun Chugh Bhandare and Vinod Tawde were entrusted with the responsibility of arranging the railway rakes and other facilities.

At the state level, State vice-president Manvendra Singh, State General Secretary Ram Pratap Singh, Regional President Kamlesh Mishra, Regional General Secretary Vijay Pratap Singh were entrusted with the responsibility of monitoring the campaign.

As per BJP’s planned arrangement, the arrival of Aastha special trains started from February 6. The records till now show that at least eight lakh devotees have stayed in the tent city, while 4,04,117 people reached Ayodhya by 295 trains.

On Sunday, 1,476 Ram devotees arrived in Ayodhya from Rajasthan. However, the tent city of Navya Ayodhya will remain for a a few more days, so that the devotees do not face any problem in staying.

Regional General Secretary Vijay Pratap Singh said at present the run of Aastha special trains was completed on Sunday.

In the 34-day campaign, devotees from states including Telangana, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Odisha, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Assam, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Haryana, Bihar and Gujarat reached Ayodhya in these 295 special trains.
