Bus route in dead owner’s name: DM orders probe
The East Burdwan district administration has woken up to the fact on how a passenger route was allowed to continue even though the route owner had died eight months ago.

The groundbreaking of the unit for the marginal farmer women involved in farming was held today. The local Ausgram-II panchayat samiti has declared a 100 per cent subsidy for the women from the local villages. Asit Kumar Mal MP, Bolpur, Rishu Ravi, director, Grant Thornton Bharat, the mentor British firm with his team joined the groundbreaking venue today.
The struggling women shared their success stories mentioning the exemplary achievements of the women farmers. Mal said: “It’s an example of an unprecedented enterprise, emphasizing the active involvement of marginalized women farmers, indeed.” The British firm has stressed implementing its women empowerment project ‘Stree’ across Bengal.

Rishu Ravi, director, spoke about the ongoing initiatives in four districts, Nadia, East Burdwan, Murshidabad and Birbhum, along with 20 other districts nationwide.
