UP govt suspends Atiq’s doctor brother-in-law
The Uttar Pradesh government has suspended Akhlaq Ahmed, the brother-in-law of slain gangster Atiq Ahmed.
Along with the CIC, then chief information commissioners (ICs) were appointed for a three-year term.
The Uttar Pradesh government on Thursday appointed former UP DGP Rajkumar Vishwakarma as chief information commissioner (CIC) along with ten information commissioners (ICs), officials said here o Thursday.
The 10 newly-appointed ICs are Mohammad Nadeem, Virendra Singh, Sudhir Kumar, Rakesh Kumar, Dilip Agnihotri, Rajendra Kumar Singh, Padam Dwivedi, Shakuntala Gautam, Girjesh Kumar Chaudhary and Swatantra Prakash.

Most of the new ICs are senior journalists.

The CIC and the ICs were selected from around 68 applicants by a three-member committee headed by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath comprising the leader of the Opposition in the assembly and the state finance minister recently.
The commissioners are appointed for a term of three years or attaining the age of 65 years, whichever is earlier from the date of assuming the office.
